“1Jn
4:1 Beloved, believe not every
spirit, but prove the spirits, if they are of God; because many false prophets
are gone out into the world. 1Jn 4:2 Hereby ye know the Spirit of God: every
spirit which confesses Jesus Christ come in flesh is of God; 1Jn 4:3 and
every spirit which does not confess Jesus Christ come in flesh is not of God:
and this is that power of the antichrist, of which ye have heard that it comes, and now it is already in the world.”
and this is that power of the antichrist, of which ye have heard that it comes, and now it is already in the world.”
After showing us that there are many deceiving spirits that
come in the name of Jesus to be worshiped, the Spirit gives us this advice
which is both a command. Unfortunately, many people do not love God, but are
simply fanatics of churches. It is for them that the Lord speaks, saying “Joh 5:42 but I know you, that ye have not the love of
God in you.” If they really loved God with all their hearts,
as result, they would be stern in the purity of their faith by not agreeing to
obey deceiving spirits, even when they appear in the guise of a false
Christianity.
When God tells
us to prove any spirit, this is an order that goes without any interpretation. Do
not believe every spirit. If a spirit is so-called, or comes in the shape of,
Jesus, it is not enough to believe. If an institution is called church, it's
not enough to join it. If a speech is called Gospel, it is not enough to
receive it. In 2Corinthians 11 - we already read it - the Spirit clearly
says that there are other Jesuses, other Gospels and other spirits. Now here the
Spirit is giving us the strategy to identify the spirit which is of God and the
spirit that is not of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has
come in flesh is of God. But one can only confess Jesus Christ if he believes
in Him. And Jesus Christ himself tells us how we must believe in Him “Joh 7:38 He that believes on me, as the
scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
It's about believing in
accordance with what the Scripture has said. Can confess Him, only he who
believes in Jesus as the Scriptures has said. Others confess their own Jesus,
the Jesus of their churches. In his talk with the disciples of Emmaus, the Lord
began by blaming them for being “Luk 24:25 … slow of heart to believe in all
that the prophets have spoken!” It should be noted here that He was speaking to the
Jews, who were a believing people. They believed in Moses, the prophets, the
Psalms and other scriptures, as Christians today believe in the Bible. But the
disciples did not believe all of these writings, as Christians also do not
believe all of the scriptures. The consequence was that they were not able to
recognize the Lord while he was present with them.
To confess Jesus Christ come in flesh, there is a condition that no
one can get around: believing as the
Scripture has said and all that the Scripture has said. Thus, it
follows that to confess Jesus Christ come in flesh is to confess, not a part,
but all that the Scripture has said. No one can convince us that he is
confessing Jesus Christ by quoting certain Bible passages while rejecting
others with niceties such as “This was only for Corinthians ... this is Peter's
statement that contradicted Jesus ... this is already over because we are in a
different generation...”All those who wrote the Bible did it on the behalf of
the Lord, moved by his Holy Spirit (2P 1: 20-21) and thus acted as prophets,
for God's Word comes to the prophet. We need a heart flexible and ready to
believe all the things they have said (which are written in the Bible).
Then to explain them, the Lord only navigated in all the scriptures.
Jesus Christ himself never spoke of Himself using other references or going
beyond what is written. And eventually, he opened their minds to understand the
scriptures; not to be philosophers or inventors of new doctrines. They were to
remain within the limits of what is written. If someone is wise on the part of
God, he is within the limits of what the holy bible scriptures have said. God
never opened someone's mind to make him able to invent new doctrines. Hence,
the disciples, after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Pentecost day,
testified of Jesus saying only what is written.
Paul puts it this way, “Act 26:22 Having therefore met with the help which is from God, I have stood firm unto
this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying nothing else than
those things which both the prophets and Moses have said should happen,” It was the
same with all the other witnesses of Jesus, they never strayed from the
scriptures. Even today there are true witnesses of Jesus who confess Him saying
none other than what the Holy Bible scriptures have announced. This is the
confession of Jesus Christ come in flesh, the confession of what the scripture has
said without straying in any way.
One who does not confess all that
the prophets have spoken, from Genesis to Revelation; he does not confess Jesus
Christ come in flesh, he is not of God, but the antichrist we heard was coming.
He may talk about Jesus, but it is not the Jesus of the Bible, but a fake
Jesus. Already in the natural realm, hacking has very dire consequences.
Cybernetics provides a lot of cases of hacking today. A man can hack a name and
a photo of another person and thus open a fake address. Suppose that the real
person is Jaja, but has hacked the name of Barack Obama. All the people through
to that person will think they are chatting with Barack Obama, but in reality
they are chatting with Jaja. If they obey him, they are rather obeying Jaja,
Obama knows nothing. If they send money or any other form of present, they are
doing this to Jaja; Obama is not aware of all these things. This fake Obama may
even require what is unrequireable - such as photographs where they are
completely naked - against a false promise, and they will do anything to
satisfy him.
It's the same with fake Jesuses.
People pray to them, they obey them, they can even worship them ... but in all
this Jesus-Christ come in flesh, the crucified or the Jesus of the Bible does
not know them and he will tell them that day “Mat
7:23 I never knew you. Depart
from me, workers of lawlessness.” So, what is
iniquity (lawlessness) here? - The fact of believing every spirit, neglecting
the Lord's command that says, "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try
the spirits whether they are of God." We have one reliable tool to
test these spirits: all that the Scripture has said. The devil
can mimic everything, but there is one thing he does not make out: to abide in the
truth (Jn 8: 46). By cons, Jesus Christ come in flesh, the crucified or the
Jesus of the Bible, cannot be found outside of the Scripture.
Likewise all biblical themes can
only be explained in all the scriptures; same with all biblical characters. The
enemy who does not stand in the truth uses biblical themes to give them
non-biblical content; he uses names of biblical characters to apply them to non-biblical
characters. For example, no child of God would be displeased to hear of
Abraham, Peter, Mary, etc. However, tell me about Abraham according to what the
scripture has said, tell me about Peter according to what the scripture has said,
tell me about Mary according to what the scripture has said; otherwise you are telling
me about a fake Abraham, a fake Peter, a fake Mary. Man must make a profession
of faith according to what the scripture has said, woman must make profession
of faith according to what the scripture has said, the church must make a
profession of faith according to what the scripture has said.
This is what God expects from
all of you that sincerely love Him “1Co 4:6 … that ye may learn in us the lesson of not letting your
thoughts go above what is
written, that ye may not be puffed up one for such a
one against another.” Going beyond what is written is a fellowship
with fake Jesuses, in other words the demons, and that is to eat meat
sacrificed to idols. “1Jn 5:21 Children, keep yourselves from idols.”
If you feel
blessed, share and pour out the same blessings.
