“Son 6:13 Return, return, O Shulamite; Return, return,
that we may look upon thee. --What would ye look upon in the Shulamite? --As it
were the dance of two camps.” God has added to me other items on this great mystery
of love between Christ and his Church,
it is the mystery of this Shulamite the most
perfect and beautiful among women. Many times the bridegroom pays her the
compliment, "Thou art fair" (Can
1 :15 ; 4 :1 ; 7 :7). The bridegroom pays her the
compliment "O thou fairest among women" (Can 1 :8) and other virgins of Jerusalem
likewise recognize her (5 :9 ;
6 :1). The Bridegroom uses another more imposing expression as follows, “Son 4:7
Thou art all fair, my love; And there is no spot in thee.” In other
words, the Shulamite is perfect, and Solomon also solemnly proclaimed, “Son 6:9
My dove, mine undefiled, is but one;” he further said, addressing
the Shulamite, “Son 5:2 Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, mine
undefiled.”
This mystery is really great
because it reminds us of Adam and Eve, and both refer us to Christ and His
Bride. Indeed from the biblical point of view, if there is a first Adam, there
is also a second Adam; if there is a Solomon, there is also a Greater-than-Solomon.
Now if there is a last Adam, likewise there need to be a last Eve; if there is
a Greater-than-Solomon, likewise there need to be a Greter-than-Shulamite. We
have already seen what Woman means, the name the man gave his wife: Isha
from Ish, which means literally “Female man.” It's exactly the
same with the Shulamite and Solomon. Solomon means “Prince of Peace,” “peaceful”
and Shulamite means “Princess of Peace,” “peaceful” (Shulamite is
a Latinized form of Salomithe, the feminine of Solomon). And it is the groom
Solomon who called his bride so.
We note that Solomon is
identified perfectly with this bride and calls her his own name or, should we
say, the Shulamite is the Solomon of female sex. The prophet Isaiah in turn
shows us the true Prince of Peace: “Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name is called
Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty *God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.” Messiah or
Christ is the true Solomon and even Greater-than-Solomon and his bride the true
Shulamite. To be the Shulamite, the virgin had to distinguish among other
virgins without number, be all beautiful and flawless, the fairest among women;
put simply, perfect.
Her Bridegroom is himself
chiefest among ten thousand (Can 5: 10) and can only merit a bride that stands among
virgins without number: “Son 6:8 There are threescore queens, and fourscore
concubines, And virgins without number: Son 6:9 My dove, mine undefiled, is but one; She is
the only one of her mother, She is the choice one of her that bore her. The
daughters saw her, and they called her blessed; The queens and the concubines,
and they praised her.” Only the Shulamite was able to meet this
criterion. Eve was bone of the bones and flesh of the flesh of Adam, but she
was not perfect as she succumbed to the guile of the old serpent and became the
mother of all living, i.e. both of the sons of God and the sons of the devil.
So she was a virgin but she was not perfect, and when her husband Adam knew
her, she had already been beguiled by the serpent of Eden.
The wife of Jehovah, Israel, whom
he had brought out of Egypt was a virgin, but not perfect as she played the
whore every turn. No sooner, just out of Egypt, their pastor Moses delayed a
bit on Mount Sinai for an interview with Jehovah, than she made a golden calf and began to
worship it (Exodus 32). Following the teaching of Balaam they committed
fornication with the Moabite and ate meat sacrificed to idols (Numbers from
Chapter 22, Rev 2: 14). With the succession of kings in Israel and
Judah, they went into high gear in prostitution (Ez 16, 23). They built
altars and high places to the gods of the world, Baal, Astarte, the queen of
heaven Tammuz, etc.
Prostitution of Jerusalem and
Samaria was at its height, such that it had not been seen with other
prostitutes “Eze 16:31 in that thou buildest thy place of debauchery
at the head of every way, and makest thy high place in every street! And thou
hast not been as a harlot, in that thou scornest reward, Eze 16:32 O
adulterous wife, that taketh strangers instead of her husband. Eze 16:33 They
give rewards to all harlots; but thou gavest thy rewards to all thy lovers, and
rewardedst them, that they might come unto thee on every side for thy
whoredoms. Eze 16:34 And in thee is the contrary from other women, in thy whoredoms, in that none followeth
thee to commit fornication; and whereas thou givest a reward, and no reward is
given unto thee, so art thou contrary.”
In the New Testament, the same
thing has happened with the Bride of Christ, the New Testament Church. To curry
favor with the world, she prostituted to the kings of the earth, headed by the
Roman Emperor during the reign of Constantine the Great in the fourth century
AD. She excelled in her prostitution until she conquered the first place: THE
MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH (Revelation 17: 5). As God has
repudiated Israel because of her prostitutions (Jer 3: 8), this prostitute has also
been divorced by Christ who gave her over to her lovers. Then her prostitution took
the same character as that of Jerusalem and of Samaria; she herself fetches her
lovers instead that they come to her; Instead of receiving presents from her
lovers, she rather gives presents to hire her lovers to come to her from all
sides for her prostitution: “Rev 18:3 because all the nations have drunk of the
wine of the fury of her fornication; and the kings of the earth have committed
fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have been enriched through
the might of her luxury.” She is a prostitute that enriches all her lovers
who make love with her.
This New Testament prostitute
has enriched those high on the earth as a reward for lewd intercourses they
have had with her. In her judgment, all of the great of the earth: kings,
merchants, etc. weep because the prostitute with whom they have become powerful
is destroyed: “Rev 18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have
committed fornication, and lived luxuriously with her, shall weep and wail over
her, when they see the smoke of her burning, Rev 18:10 standing afar off, through fear of her
torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! for in one
hour thy judgment is come. Rev 18:11 And the merchants of the earth weep and
grieve over her, because no one buys their lading any more;”
But Christ, the Greater-than-Solomon
always sends his messengers with a voice that calls out of Babylon. Martin
Luther came from the Lord and called the virgins out of Babylon with his
message of justification through faith. Those who heard his call went out, of
course virgins and fanatics. The fanatics who left were quick to build another
high place of prostitution under the name of Lutheranism, just like their
mother. John Wesley came with the message of sanctification and those who heard
the call come out of Babylon (Catholicism + Lutheranism), of course virgins and
fanatics. The fanatics who left were quick to build high places of
prostitution: Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, etc. The restoration of the
gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Church with Charles F. Parham, pastor of Bible
School in Topeka, Kansas, USA, WJ Seymour and others, was a great blessing for
the people. But the zealots were quick to build new places of prostitution of
the Pentecostal and Charismatic movement.
Then God fulfilled his promise
to restore all things before her great and terrifying day, “Act
3:19 Repent therefore and be
converted, for the blotting out of your sins, so that times of refreshing may
come from the presence of the Lord, Act 3:20 and
he may send Jesus Christ, who was foreordained for you, Act 3:21 whom heaven indeed
must receive till the times of the restoring of all things, of which God has spoken
by the mouth of his holy prophets since time began.” The prophets always spoke of this restoration.
Our Lord has also announced “Mat 17:11 And he answering said to them, Elias indeed
comes first and will restore all things.” It is through the ministry of
Elijah the prophet that God restores all things, this ministry was manifested
in the person of the American William Marrion Branham.
We had to be taken go back to
the apostolic foundations: to believe the same thing Peter, Paul and other
apostles and disciples of Jesus believed to obtain that same Holy Spirit
descended at Pentecost, and manifest the same works that have manifested the
apostles. As always, Branham called God’s people out and virgins, but also fanatics,
went out. The fanatics were quick to build a big monument around the
branhamism. But never God of heaven sent to men something like Lutheranism,
Calvinism, Methodism, branhamism, etc.; he always sends his word that comes
from Christ. All these “...isms” are just pictures of the Great Catholicism
or Romanism, and do not look like Christ, even why they have their own
names. Virgins are those who truly receive God's message and are washed. All
others are prostitutes.
At the time of the restoration
of all things, the objective is to achieve perfection, for it is here that the
bride has to be the word to its purest form. Christ is the fulfillment of that
entire Scripture; likewise the restored Bride has to be the fulfillment of all
that is written. Christ never went beyond what is written; likewise the
restored Bride will never go beyond what is written. What Christ is, what the restored
bride is also, only the feminine. He is Greater-than-Solomon, She is Greater-than-Sulamithe.
This basement being laid; now we will find descriptions of this Shulamite in sections
to follow.
