The Nature of Lie (3)

« 7For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
8And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made. 32So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places. 33They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence. 34Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel; 38And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods. 41So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.” 2Kg 17.
That is the nature of man, fearing God and fearing the world, serving God and serving the world, man is not willing to hurt neither one nor the other but wants to satisfy both at the same time. This is the worst in man and it is the nature of the lie. The logical chain between verses 33 and 34 shows, however, that fearing God and the world at the same time is tantamount to fearing neither the one nor the other. Combining the love of God with the love of the world or the fear of God with the fear of the world, this is the biggest lie that has ever been, yet this is what characterizes the so-called Christians.
The purpose of lying is to deceive or seduce, the force that enables a lie to achieve this goal is thought of as truth, in other words it is the rate of truth contained therein. Thus, there is a better quality lie, in which there is a larger rate of truth insomuch that one can scantily distinguish it from the truth, such a lie has a greater power of seduction. There is also a poor quality lie, which contains a low dose of truth insomuch that one can easily distinguish it from the truth, such a lie has a low power of seduction. As an example, Muslims who experienced difficulty in convincing Christians to embrace Islam by simply using of the Koran, have understood the need to study the Bible to and fro and use it to confuse Christians who are not built on the rock.
And in this there is a mixture, the nature of the lie and the father of lies, as we have seen in the previous publication. To make this as clearly as possible to readers, we also consider here in parallel, the nature of the Father of Truth who is God. He says of himself that he is holy: “26And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.” Lv 20. Because he is holy, all that comes out of him is holy; all his emotions are holy as well. Holy is his love, holy is his hatred, holy is his wrath as holy his is love, etc.
When God enters into wrath, his fury is unmixed “10The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb” Rv 14. God cannot mix his wrath with softness or pity, but when it comes to wrath, it is pure, holy and without mixing. God was wroth against the Amalekites as they had denied way through to Israel leaving Egypt (1Sam.15). God, through his prophet Samuel, ordered Saul to go run the holy wrath of God. The following were the terms of the holy wrath of God: smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. These terms express zero dose of compassion, he had to destroy everything.
Saul violated the terms of the holy wrath of God, and defiled this holy anger by adding a little compassion for the king Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good. This mixture of wrath and compassion led to the dismissal of Saul and, later on, his death. The things of God do not put up with any mixture without resulting in death.
When God hates, he hates with a holy hatred. He does not mix his hatred with love. He says of Esau and Jacob “2I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, 3And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. 4Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever. 5And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.” Mal 1. God hated Esau, and there is nothing that Esau can do to be loved, if he builds God throws down, he cannot have pity or compassion for him, but he will ever be irritated against him forever. Clearly, it is eternal hatred and unmixed.
When God loves His love is holy, pure and unadulterated. The love of God cannot be mixed with hatred, rage or disgust. Inasmuch as God has loved us, he cannot be disgusted, weary of us or hate us. He loved us unconditionally, while we were still sinners like everbody “8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Ro 5. And when we sin is saddened in us, but not irritated against us “30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” Ep 4. When to correct us, he does not treat us harshly, he does not threaten us nor destroy us: “11For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.” Jr 30. To those he loves, he says again, “9For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.” Is 54.
Because he loves me, he cannot make a full end of me, he cannot be angry with me, it cannot threaten me, but he can take me if I fall, he can forgive me if I sin, he can wash me if I'm dirty: he has predestined me to be conformed to the image of his son, and if God is for me, who can be against me (Ro 8:29+31)? he has placed an intercessor so that at any moment he is aware of my troubles, he has also placed a lawyer to constantly defend my case with him. If I smell bad, he has provided for me the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley, and so through the deodorant of the Rose of Sharon and the scent of Lily of the Valley obtained when the flower was pressed at Calvary I seem to him very pleasant and he is will to smell me, because my stench of sin no longer exists. Hallelujah! In short, when God loves, his love is boundless: he provides whatever is necessary for his beloved not perishing, but that he should enjoy his glory.
Such is the nature of God, the Father of truth: he is pure and holy, and in him there is no confusion. Can we realize that men are generally under the influence of the devil who is the father of lies, rather than under the influence of God! all ‘half-measures’ approaches and mixed sentiments come from the devil. And that is why the Bible instructs us to consider every man a liar (Ro.3: 4). Indeed, man is unable to completely love or completely hate. Saul was unable to perform the holy wrath of God without mixing with a little pity. A man says he hates the devil while loving a lot of the devil. A man says he loves a woman, but only in some aspects (perhaps the beauty of her voice, her eyes, her face, morphology), and in many other respects (infirmities or weaknesses) he hates same woman. Thus, within the same couple can coexist both love and hate, sometimes ‘o my love, I love you, I adore you darling,’ some other times 'I will kill you, you don’t know me well': it is the nature of the lie, it comes from the devil and this is the agony in such a home.
Some wise people of the world, as Nicolas Machiavelli, have also understood and agreed that all the evil in this world originates with this duplicity of man. This learned writer says, "Men do not know how to be entirely good or entirely evil." [Nicolas Machiavelli] – Extract from The Thoughts, and still "All the evil of this world from men not being good enough nor perverse enough. "[Nicolas Machiavelli] Men do not know how to be only Disciples of Christ or only followers of Satan. God has likewise complained against the church in Laodicea: “15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Rv 3.
Churches at the same time want to please God and please the world, fear God and fear the world, serve God and serve the world: they are in the lie. Elijah gave them this challenge, “21How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.” 1Kg 21. This challenge is still relevant today and is open to all those who, at the same time, love, fear and serve God, and they love, fear, and serve the world, they are in the lie and do not stand in the truth.
If you feel blessed, share and pour out the same blessings.
