"And the woman said to
Elijah, Now I by this know that thou art a man of God, and that the Word of the
LORD in thy mouth is Truth" IKg. 17:24. The widow of Zarephath
was then having her second experience in beholding miracles that follow those
who believe. First, she had seen how,
upon the word that the Lord had spoken by
Elijah (v.16), the flour that was in
the pot had not wasted, and the oil that was in the jug did not fail. This
woman made this confession with the revelation that the miracles of the God of
Truth will only accompany those who have faith like a mustard seed.
She did not say "I now believe
..." she had already believed, and we read in verse 18 that she already
called Elijah 'man of God': there is a time for everything, a time to believe
and a time to experience the fulfillment of what one has believed. When the
promise is fulfilled, we no longer believe, but we ascertain or recognize. At
the time of Elisha and King Joram, the king's officer did not believe the Word
of God but sow its fulfillment without enjoying. Believing is one thing, seeing,
finding or recognizing is another. We believe in the hearing of the Word, we
recognize in the sight of a miracle. People who seek God for blessings or to
see miracles without seeking the Truth can be anything, except believers.
We know that the nature of the
devil is lie: "He abode not in the truth because
there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for
he is a liar and the father of it" (Jn. 8:44). The truth
distorted, manipulated or twiddled; this is the very lie, the nature of the
devil. Hence, the Word of God is only Truth if nothing is added thereto and/or
cut off thereof. Jesus, in his priestly prayer said "Sanctify them through
thy truth, thy word is truth" Jn. 17:17. If we be sanctified by the Truth, i.e. it
provides us with the nature of God, then Truth is itself the nature or holiness
of God. He who came to reveal the being of God in the flesh says of himself: "I
am the Way, the Truth, and the Life" Jn. 14:6.
Saying the Word of God is Truth implies
that the Word of God is holy. Maybe, let us take the example of gold to
understand. In our human language, gold may contain a rate of waste, and same
still is gold. But through purging process, we get pure gold. So
that, gold that contains waste at a minimum rate, tending to one divided by infinity,
is a lie, and gold refined, seven times purged, and containing zero
waste, is the Truth. The lie is the word of God mixed with a
particular view, even to the strict minimum nearing zero, and the Truth is the
Word of God that reflects the mind of God, the nature of God, the holiness of
God. Truth does not contain any human thought or opinion. The Word of the Lord
in Elijah's mouth was truth: the statement equates that it was holy, it was
devoid of any Elijah’s perception, it was entirely a "Thus saith the Lord,"
nothing short.
Peter said "Thou
are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Mt. 16:16; and
demons alike said the same thing (Mat. 8:29, Marc 3:11, Luc 4:34 et 41). But
this same Word of God in the mouth of Peter was truth, but a lie in the mouth
of demons. The devil is devil, even when he quotes the Scriptures, as he also
did in Jesus' temptation in the desert (Lc.4). Since in the Garden of
Eden, he has always quoted the scriptures without leaving them in God’s perception
or context, the author thereof. Well rightly does the servant of God, even
Ewald Frank, say that he just keeps the subject and leaves the very content. He
says the word of God and mixes it with his point of view; which is precisely
the essence of the lie.
Any view that is added to the
word of God makes it a lie, because then the word of God is removed from its
holiness. The world is populated by people who believe in God, the
majority. At the same time, the world is full of crime, despair, divorce,
drugs, homosexuality, pedophilia, bestiality, sodomy, etc., and the authors of
these perversions are generally members of a religion. This is quite normal,
because these are perversions that must follow those who believe in the lie
that is none other than the Word of God made a particular viewpoint.
In Jesus' time, there were men of
God from the Pharisee point of view, men of God from the Sadducee point of view,
men of God from the Zealot's point of view, men of God from the Essenian point
of view, etc. And the word of God in the mouth of each of them was a lie: it
could neither make holy, nor bring the people of God close to their God. The
Son of man came with the Word of God from the perspective of God, which made it
completely different from their own “words
of God”, of them all.
Today, one preaches the word of
God from the Catholic point of view: the word of God in his mouth is a lie, one
else preaches the word of God from Lutheran point of view: the word of God in
his mouth is a lie; the other preaches the word of God from the orthodox point
of view: the word of God in his mouth is a lie; the other preaches the word of
God from the Anglican point of view: the word of God in his mouth is a lie; the
other preaches the word of God from the Presbyterian point of view: the word of
God in their mouth is a lie; the other preaches the word of God from the Methodist
point of view: the word of God in his mouth is a lie; the other preaches the
word of God from the Pentecostal point of view: the word of God in his mouth is
a lie. Jehovah's Witnesses preach the word of God from the perspective of
Jehovah's Witnesses (up to a translating the Bible from their point of view):
the word of God in their mouth is a lie. Adventists preach the word of God from
the Adventist point of view: the word of God in their mouth is a lie.
Branhamists preach the word of God from the Branhamist point of view: the word
of God in their mouth is a lie. And in revivalist and independent churches, X
and Y preach the word of God from the X point of view and from the Y point of
view: the word of God in their mouth is a lie. Those who are messengers of God
preach the Word of God from God’s point of view: the Word of God in their mouth
is Truth.
People need to understand that
the particular point of view (Catholic, Orthodox, Methodist, Branhamist, etc.),
is the very "Precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little,
there a little" of Isaiah 28. The Word of God is
holy food for the children of God, called to be holy as their Father is holy.
These particular viewpoints are saliva and stomach substances that are mixed
therewith after ruminating. In chapter 28 of Isaiah
where he speaks thereof, he calls the whole 'vomit and filthiness’. Unclean
animals, unclean and hateful birds feast around such tables full of vomit and filthiness.
As for the true children of God, who are rather doves; they cannot even approach
these tables full of vomit and filthiness, because their digestive system could
not manage to digest so foul food.
It is for this reason that the
Lord launches a call out "Come out from among them, and be ye
separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive
you. And I will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters,
saith the Lord Almighty" 2Co.6,17. All those who truly seek the
Lord also aspire to holiness and are expected to abhor all that is impure,
filthy and loathsome.
If you feel blessed, share and pour out the same blessings.
